Well the news is coming in thick and fast now! The US product page for the Transformer Prime went live just a few days ago, and we just announced yesterday that the device is available for pre-order. Now Asus have released the official source code and user manual for the new tablet – before any physical devices have even hit the shelves!
You can grab the official source from the ASUS Download Site. It’s pretty small – just the kernel modifications that have been made to suit the TF201 hardware. Yes, that’s Gorilla Glass you see there. For those of you who aren’t aware, Gorilla Glass is the gold standard in toughened glass, and has been used by most high end Android handsets lately (including the Samsung Galaxy S2). It’s practically impossible to break, and highly resistant to scratches. Asus has also coated the screen in a special hydro-oleophobic (fingerprint resistant) coating, which should prevent smudges or greasy marks inhibiting the viewing experience.
